The large diameter tubular reactor is a 20 mL reactor constructed from large-bore (3.2 mm ID) PFA tubing. To maintain excellent mixing performance while preserving tightly controlled residence time distribution, the reactor incorporates static mixing elements throughout its length. All wetted surfaces are PFA, ensuring broad chemical compatibility, including with aggressive reagents and solvents.
Application examples
- Scale up of homogeneous reactions via larger reactor volumes
- Biphasic liquid-liquid reactions
- Biphasic liquid – gas reactions
- Acid-mediated transformations requiring excellent chemical resistance
- Amide formation and other reactions in mixed phases
Large diameter tubular reactor features
- Temperature range – ambient to 150 °C
- 20 ml internal volume
- Full length static mixers
- Wetted materials – PFA
- Residence times 30 s to 200 minutes
- Pressure up to 10 bar at 150 °C
Key advantages
A large internal volume within a compact footprint supports straightforward scale-up while maintaining efficient use of laboratory space. Full-length static mixing elements provide excellent mixing performance, particularly in biphasic and triphasic systems. All wetted materials are PFA, ensuring excellent chemical compatibility across a wide range of reagents and solvents.
