E-Series automation software enabling data logging and complete reaction automation
The standard E-Series systems are supplied with manual control software. For many applications this software is adequate. However, for customers who require more automation and / or data logging and graphing of data, the E-Series automation software is the perfect choice. The great news is, any E-Series product can be upgraded through the installation of this enhanced software and a new touch panel. For customers who may prefer a PC application for integration with lab notebooks or LIMS, the E-Series automation software is also available as a PC version. The key features of the E-Series Automation software are described below:
Intuitive automation of flow reactions
The E-Series automation software option is an intuitive flow chemistry control interface that enables the chemist to run fully automated experiments, log precise data and display the data graphically.
The E-Series automation software does not stop here, further licences can enable integration with additional pumps, R-Series modules, PAT and even enable an industry standard OPC UA interface.
Manual control interface
The manual control interface provides all the control necessary to set up and run your flow experiments. All controls are clearly visible, and all data is reported in real time.
Select data to be displayed in each graph
A simple drop-down control is used to select which dataset is displayed on each graph, pressure, temperature, flowrate, data from PAT, valves…etc. A further control allows the selection of which data from the dataset is displayed, pump 1 pressure, system pressure etc. Selecting the data to be presented could not be easier.
Choose optimal graph display format
The display and graphing of data is industry-leading. The user can select between one, two or three axis displays. Three-axes display is perfect for data comparison on the same time base, while single-axis display is ideal for the detailed evaluation of an individual dataset.
Save and export data
Both axes of every graph have autoscaling. In addition, both X and Y axes can be zoomed in and out using either the increase/decrease buttons or using two-finger touch screen scaling.
All data is continuously written to a file, ensuring no data is lost even in the event of a complete lab power failure. Data can be exported in csv format at any time for further analysis or inclusion in lab notebooks or reports.
Flow chemistry experiment editor
The E-Series automation software includes an experiment editor which allows the creation of basic or complex networks of pumps, reactors, UV detectors and other flow chemistry equipment.
The editor has a range of “icons” that allow different elements to be assembled to create the experimental setup. Experiments can be edited, saved & recalled.
Third-party devices are supported
A limited selection of 3rd party devices can be integrated via the software into your flow experiment. For example, external reactors can be specified, also PAT instruments can be integrated including, UV detectors, FTIRs and even Raman detectors.
Add additional functionality
The E-Series automation software can be further expanded. Additional licence levels are available to provide additional pump channels (up to 8) and to provide an industry-standard OPC UA server allowing full integration between E-Series automation software, analytical instruments, etc.
Boiling point prediction
Use the built-in tools for calculating the solvent boiling point at elevated temperatures.
The Boiling point calculator includes all the common laboratory solvents and allows a quick and clear representation of the boiling point at the target process temperature. Use the tool to ensure the reactor has enough pressure to prevent the boiling of solvents.
Tubing compatibility guide
The E-Series system features Vapourtec’s unique high-pressure chemically resistant peristaltic pumps. The tube compatibility tool features Vapourtec’s unique library of reagents and solvents to ensure the correct pump tube is selected for your application. The compatibility guide is quick and easy to use.
