    Job Title: Sales specialist (Technical, Manufacturing, OEM) (full time – 40hrs p/w)

    Job role:

    Due to continued growth in 2017 an exciting opportunity has arisen to work at an innovative company manufacturing hi-tech laboratory equipment based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This role is part of the sales team and will be reporting to the Sales Manager.

    Summary:

    The Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting, presenting and selling Vapourtec’s flow chemistry instruments. The role involves, following up enquires, preparing accurate quotations and demonstrating the product at customer sites. The sales specialist will prepare documents such as price quotations, terms of sales and managing delivery dates and customer expectations. Following the initial training period, although a proportion of the time will be office based (Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk) the role is expected to require periods out of the office visiting customers. Business trips requiring an overnight stay will not exceed 6 weeks in a calendar year.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Follow up new sales leads
    • Organise customer visits and demonstration tours in UK and overseas
    • Prepare quotes, and answer any enquiries on instruments
    • Interact closely with existing customers to develop new sales leads
    • Carry out prospecting to find new sales leads
    • Attend conferences in UK and overseas
    • Negotiate discount levels to win orders
    • Follow-up on orders
    • Carry out email campaigns to develop new business
    • Provide phone support to Customers for quotes and new equipment
    • Prepare tender documents when required
    • Answer questions in a timely manner
    • Other duties and tasks as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:

    • Knowledge of chemical synthesis laboratory equipment is desired
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with internal/external customers
    • Good presentation skills
    • Experience in negotiation
    • An ability to work under pressure
    • Able to work to own initiative
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Experience in the use of ACT CRM system would be a benefit but is not essential
    • Interest in work related overseas travel

    Educational Requirements:

    • Good first degree (2:1 or better) preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other scientific degree + at least 3 years experience in a sales role with demonstrated success.

    Salary and Benefits:

    Salary for the position will be based on experience £25,000 to £32,000/year + sales related bonus (OTE £30K-£40K/year)

    Driving: Driving license required

    Job Title: Purchaser (Technical, Manufacturing, OEM) (full time – 40hrs p/w)

    Job role:

    An exciting opportunity to work for a Hi-tech SME manufacturing company, based in Suffolk, East Anglia.

    The role is part of the Operations team, reporting to the Production manager, and involves the procurement, contract negotiation, planning and quality control of the in-house manufactured laboratory equipment.

    Main responsibilities:

    • You will raise and control purchase orders
    • You will support production in planning.
    • You will be responsible for order negotiation and chasing.
    • Maintain supplier accounts and source new accounts
    • Manage stock and stock rotation, including goods received
    • Answer basic technical questions from suppliers
    • Data analysis and reporting for management accounting

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years experience in a Purchasing/procurement role in a manufacturing environment
    • 2 A levels or National diploma / GNVQ level 3
    • Experience with MRP systems
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Able to work in a busy deadline driven environment.
    • Able to multi task with an organised approach.
    • Confident with Windows, Excel, Word.

    Desirable:

    • Good technical understanding of materials
    • Ability to read technical drawings
    • Sage line 50 and Sage manufacturing experience
    • Planning and BOM’s systems and maintenance

     

    Additional Information:

    The Salary for the position is based on experience and will range from £24,000 to £29,000 p/a.

    You must hold a full driving license.

    Job Title: Service Engineer (Technical, Manufacturing, OEM) (full time – 40hrs p/w)

    Job role:

    An exciting opportunity to work for a Hi-tech SME manufacturing company, based in Suffolk, East Anglia.

    The role is part of the Operations team, reporting to the Service manager, and involves the servicing, maintenance and customer support of the in-house manufactured laboratory equipment.

    Main responsibilities:

    • You will undertake the qualification of the companies Flow Chemistry systems during your time at the office.
    • Perform maintenance, and upgrade services on-site and at factory
    • Perform field servicing
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventative maintenance and repair.
    • Provide technical support to customers.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a service or installation role.
    • NVQ Level 3/BTEC or Higher Diploma/Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or chemical engineering
    • Good logical troubleshooting techniques.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • You enjoy travelling and visiting customers.
    • Able to work with minimal supervision to tight deadlines.
    • Confident with Windows, Excel, Word.

    Desirable:

    • Experience within a scientific industry and working in a laboratory environment. In-house training will be given.
    • Electro-Mechanical experience.
    • Experience in working overseas.
