Meet the Scientists Behind Vapourtec’s Peptide Programme
Successful peptide synthesis depends on much more than choosing the right synthesizer. Sequence-dependent challenges such as aggregation, steric hindrance and incomplete coupling often require careful method development and practical experience. To help researchers address these challenges, Vapourtec has established a dedicated peptide synthesis team combining expertise in peptide chemistry, method development and Fast-Flow Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS).
Support is available from the earliest stages of method development through to application support, training, and ongoing technical guidance. Every collaboration also helps expand our understanding of Fast-Flow SPPS driving the continued development of Vapourtec’s peptide synthesis technologies and applications.

Dr. Manuel Nuño
Chief Scientific Officer (CSO)
Dr. Manuel Nuño is an experienced scientist with an international background spanning academia and industry. As Chief Scientific Officer at Vapourtec, he leads the scientific development of Vapourtec’s Fast-Flow SPPS technology and peptide research programme. With extensive expertise in peptide chemistry, method development, and the synthesis of challenging peptide sequences, Manuel helps researchers optimize peptide synthesis workflows and develop robust, high-performance methods that address real-world research challenges.
Dr. Ezequiel Silva
Peptide Research Scientist
Dr. Ezequiel Silva has extensive experience in organic and medicinal chemistry, specialising in peptide chemistry, solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), and continuous-flow peptide synthesis. Following his PhD at the University of Glasgow and postdoctoral research at the University of Windsor, he joined Vapourtec to support researchers with method development, application support, instrument demonstrations and technical guidance. His combination of academic research and practical expertise helps customers achieve high-quality, reproducible peptide synthesis using Fast-Flow SPPS.
Dr. Induka Abeysena
Peptide Synthesizer Product Manager
With a background in chemistry and years of experience in the pharmaceutical and analytical sciences, Dr. Induka Abeysena helps researchers develop the most effective peptide synthesis workflow for their applications. From initial discussions and system demonstrations through to installation, training, and ongoing support, she works closely with customers to maximise the benefits of Fast-Flow SPPS while using their feedback to help shape future product development.
